Jonathan Elardo

 I am a 2012 graduate of Berean Christian School  in West Palm Beach, Florida. While attending Berean, I received the Male Athlete of the Year award for playing football, tennis, and basketball. At Berean, I also interned with the athletic department. There I helped with starting an elementary athletic program. 

I graduated college from Pensacola Christian College (PCC)  with a bachelor's degree in Sports Management. At PCC, I met my wife Holly Elardo. She played college basketball for PCC and we got married in June of 2017. We are expecting our first chid this fall. 

I have over 8 years of experience in athletics dating back to high school as an intern. I am excited to begin this chapter here at Morningside Academy.

Dear Parents, 

I am happy to announce that the FHSAA has announced that Aug 24th WILL BE the official start date for the fall season. Here is what the email that the FHSAA sent out to all ADs:

"The Florida High School Athletic Association's Board of Directors voted Friday to allow member schools to begin fall sports on August 24th, 2020. Carlos Ochoa, Athletic Director at Hialeah Gardens High School in Miami-Dade, motioned to approve Option 1 presented to the Board with the caveats that schools would not have a minimum contest limit to be eligible for State Series play and that schools may opt out of the State Series by September 18th with the ability to form their own regional schedule upon approval from the FHSAA. The motion was seconded by Wewahitchka Athletic Director, Bobby Johns and ultimately passed, 11-5. The Board also voted to require all coaches to view the NFHS Course "COVID-19 for Coaches and Administrators" and to make a Covid waiver form available to schools. Executive Director, George Tomyn, says he is happy student-athletes finally have the chance to compete again and states the Association is eager to work with schools and school districts to help them convene participation at the appropriate times."

Here are the dates and times for our fall sports tryouts:

Middle School Volleyball 6th through 8th grade (JV and Varsity) will have their first tryout date Aug 24th from 3 to 5pm. 

High School Volleyball 9th through 12th grade (JV and Varsity) will have their first tryout date on Aug 24th from 6 to 8pm. 

Cross Country 6th through 12th grade*  (Middle School and High School) will have their first offical practice on Aug 24 from 3 to 4:15pm.

*Certain exceptions will be allowed.

Every student athlete will need to have the form EL-2 also known as the physical and the EL-3 form filled out. Each of these forms are valid for 365 days.  If either of these forms are not up-to-date then the student athlete is not permitted to participate in that day's practice or workout. This also includes the optional practices and conditioning. If you do not know if your child's physical is still valid then please call the athletic office and we can update you on the status of the physical. If you have already done the physical and EL-3 form, please turn that in as soon as possible. The summer athletic office hours are currently 9pm-3pm Monday through Friday. These forms are located on the school's athletic website under the tab "Forms."
