I am very excited to begin my 11^th year teaching at Morningside Academy Upper School.  It has been such a blessing working in a Christian environment where I am able to share my faith with the children here.  I can say this from experience, having come from spending 13 years in the public sector and needing to tread carefully when sharing my faith. 

With regards to my educational background; I graduated from the University of Central Florida in 1996 with a BA in Psychology and a Minor in Business Administration.  During that time I spent 3 years as an accounting major when I decided to drastically change majors to psychology.  I felt that I was far too social to spend my days cooped up in an accounting firm, and I had a pressing desire to help others.  I furthered my academia career at Barry University and attained a Graduate Degree in Clinical Social Work in 1999.  Since then, I spent the first half of my professional career in a public school classroom counseling teenage girls, teaching life skills, and of all things, tutoring various levels of Math.  I guess I couldn’t deny my first academic love of numbers!

On a more personal note, my husband, Jason and I were married at Morningside Church 19 years ago.   Jason is a Lieutenant / Paramedic with Palm Beach County Fire Rescue and has spent 28 years in the fire service having spent the first 10 years in St. Lucie County.  We have been blessed with two amazing children and one very energetic German Shepherd.  Madyson is entering 12^th grade and Christian is entering 11^th grade, both at the upper school campus.  We tend to stay quite busy with our two children and enjoy spending quality time with our large extended family as well.

My favorite verse is Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
